* SP stands for Stillman Points. The largest flaw in my previous methodology is that it counts a 63 win season equal to an 80 win season. The cutoffs are arbitrary and not consistent up and down the scale. Stillman Points corrects this. It also corrects another flaw which is that two teams which win 85-87 games with one making the playoffs and losing the DCS and the other missing the playoffs were counted the same. Now, the playoff team gets a bonus. Teams also get very small bonuses for losing 1-game playoffs, etc. This method is what I've always wanted to do, but it required too much work. Kevin designed a spreadsheet which does the work for me. It's named Stillman Points because Kevin did all the initial work, but it's very much based on my system which was based on Bill James's system so perhaps it should properly be called James-Stevens-Stillman Points. In my view, it's a big improvement over the old method.
